About us

Swimming is a safety skill first

Safer Swimming School exists because too many people learn to swim well enough to enjoy the water, but never well enough to survive it. We teach both — floating, breathing and strokes alongside the response that matters when something goes wrong.

Our philosophy is simple: confidence before technique, readiness before age, and progress the family can actually see written down each week.

The instructors on the deck

Small team, long tenure. You will see the same faces block after block, which is exactly how nervous swimmers settle.

What we promise before anyone gets wet

Published teaching ratios

Four swimmers per instructor in group classes, three in adult classes, one or two in private sessions. The ratio is never quietly raised to fill a block.

Deck supervision at all times

A lifeguard who is not teaching watches every lesson, and instructors count swimmers in and out of the water at each transition.

Current certification, checked yearly

Every instructor holds a Water Safety Instructor qualification with current first aid and CPR, plus an annual in-water rescue review.

Inclusive by default

We adapt for sensory needs, anxiety, medical devices and mobility differences. Tell us in advance and the plan is ready before you arrive.

Community

Serving local families with children ages 6 months to 6 years

Beyond lesson blocks we run free water safety talks for schools and community groups, and hold a small number of subsidised places in every block for families who need them.

Families across our local aquatic community. If your group would like a safety session at your own pool or classroom, get in touch and we will find a date.
